Sedgewyck

The orange sodium lights hummed with a discord befitting the loneliness of the abandoned street. Sedgewyck glanced over his shoulder, not trusting the shadow that seemed to be following him in the dark night. It had been a long time since his paranoia had hit this hard and for this long. The days and nights melted into a blur of tragic proportions.

Thick black coffee and cigars fueled the nerve-raw insomniac, edging him deeper and deeper into his longest stretch of schizophrenia yet.
"They won't get me," Sedgewyck reassured himself.
"As long as I can stay awake, they can't get me."

A few new things

It has been a busy couple of weeks. Things have been pretty crazy lately at home, so my attention to the blog has certainly been lacking. Among the highlights: increased responsibilities at work due to some major changes, the search for a new (old) car, and a visit to the ER after my son cut the tip of his thumb off at work. .....Ah, life.
So in the midst of it all, I have managed to complete a few new things anyway. New to the line-up this year will be a variety of embryos and fetus specimens. All are hand made with very little reference to any actual species, and will be custom fit to each jar to make them extra gruesome on display.
A will give a shameless plug for myself now: I am preparing to add new items to my etsy store as I stock up for a few shows and conventions this year. I will be at Days of the Dead's Indianapolis convention in early July, and plan on attending Indy Hauntfest, the Irvington Halloween Fest, and a couple other shows that have not yet been booked. Shop my etsy store or come on out and see my stuff in person!

Ready to paint

Here's a batch of creepers almost ready to paint. At this point they still look pretty rough, but will soon be showing their unique personalities. 2012 is starting to look like a busy year here at the Shadow Farm with plans to attend several conventions and art shows. Eyeing up the calendar, I'm going to have to get the creative gears moving in order to keep up.

Agony

There are needles in my eyes
and a large rusty knife pierces my forehead.
It hurts to breathe.
The pain is impossible
and yet here it is again.
Just leave me alone to die
my slow and painful death.
