I've been fighting my way back into the shop this week. My creativity comes and goes, and my sessions are very short compared to normal. At this point I don't know what normal is, so am grateful for every opportunity to return to a somewhat regular routine. Sculpting and creating has always been an escape for me, offering a chance to enter another reality if only for a short time.

It seems some things are too large and horrible to escape from.

Anyway, here's a new creature I finished this week. I am not ready to delve into his story, but I am sure there is something he would like to tell.

Perhaps later.

  1. Oh Dave, normal is whatever you are feeling at any given moment. I'm glad to see you got into the shop. My heart aches for you.

  2. found your blog from another blog. not sure what your going thru right now but i wish you much luck getting thru it!! i wanted to comment and let you know your little guy here has a adorable little pout ;].very cool!!!!!! take care!

  3. This little guy's face is very reminiscent of a baby robin's face. He is endearingly childlike.

Again, love and a hug to you and your family as you work through dealing with the loss of your son.

    Bonnie (aka RoxyBlue)

  4. Thinking and praying for you and your family Dave.

  5. This fella is a triumph, Dave. Really amazing work here.

Glad you're finding your way into the workshop. Always thinking of ya.
